Interview with Dynasty Inc.

j_tna_shane.jpg (19277 bytes)

Shane Dynasty, Jason Deadrich & Miss TnA came to the ring for an interview. Dynasty & Deadrich got on the fans bad side right away, handing out paper bags to all the fans they thought were too ugly, and should hide their faces. Dynasty said that in tonights title match, Maxx Justice was going to unmask Lil Dic Grimes, and show the world that it's Vinny Massaro under the mask. Dic Grimes made his way to the ring while all this was going on, and he started to stomp a mudhole in Shane Dynasty. Bison Smith & Maxx Justice make the save and beat Dic down. Maxx chokeslams him, and then goes wild, chokeslamming everyone that comes to the ring, referees, security guards etc. Dynasty Inc. brings a table into the ring and set it up in the corner. Bison spears Dic through the table! They continue thier attack on Grimes with another chokeslam. Just before they can unmask him, the save is made by Michael Modest, Robert Thompson, Boyce LeGrande & Boom Boom Comini. Lil Dic had to be taken from the ring on a stretcher.

Interview with "Mack Daddy" Jimmy Ripp

jones_ripp.jpg (19114 bytes)

Jimmy Ripp came out with Tony Jones, and introduced "Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels as the newest member of the Mack Daddy XXXPress. Daniels got the mic and questioned who the greatest indy wrestler in the country is. He says he and Modest are ranked as the top two, and he would love to get a chance to prove that he is capable of wearing the APW Internet Title. The Mack Daddy's get a huge round of boo's from the loud crowd in Lompoc.

17 Man Battle Royal

bbc_royal.jpg (18853 bytes)

This was a pretty good Battle Royal. The first few minutes went slow, and then people started flying out left and right. There was a new wrestler that looked awfully familiar in this match. His name was Super Diabliquo. It didn't look like Super Diablo, but it looked more like Shane Dynasty up to his old tricks again.

Here is the order of elimination for the Battle Royal...

1. JJ Perez (5:27 by Ripp)
2. Jimmy Ripp (5:48 by Perez)
3. George C. Snott (6:13 by DOGPILE)
4. Chris Ward (6:28 by Thompson)
5. Shane Ballard (6:42 by Sweetie)
6. Boom Boom Comini (7:38 by Jones)
7. Shannon Ballard (7:48 by LeGrande)
8. Ma'och The Magician (8:04 by Thompson)
9. Sweetie Pie (8:17 by LeGrande)
10. Christopher Daniels (9:42 by Modest)
11. Tony Jones (9:43 by Thompson)
12. Robert Thompson (9:44 by Jones)
13. Donovan Morgan (9:48 by LeGrande)
14. Boyce LeGrande (10:00 by Smith)

...This left three men in the ring. Super Diabliquo, Bison Smith & Michael Modest. Modest took over, and started wiping the ring with both of his opponents. He knocked Bison out, and then grabbed Diablo and hit him with the DVD! Bison was up, and Modest hit a clothesline that sent both of them over the top rope to end the match at 12:22. Super Diabliquo was the winner! Modest got back in the ring and tried to unmask him, but the save was made by Maxx Justice.
APW President Roland Alexander then made the announcement that since Dic Grimes couldn't compete for the title tonight, due to his injury. The winner of the Battle Royal would get the title shot. This would mean Super Diabliquo would take on Maxx Justice for the title later in the show. Justice didn't seem to worried, as things seemed to be falling right into place for him and Dynasty Inc.

Winner: Super Diabliquo ( * * 1/2)

The Ballard Brothers & George C. Snott
(with Cheerleader Melissa)
vs
FREAK SHOW
Ma'och The Magician, Chris "PsYcHo" Ward &
Sweetie Pie

ballards.jpg (20705 bytes)

I really liked this match. I think these guys all did a good job. The Freak Show really kept things moving fast when the momentum was in thier favor. Sweetie Pie showed off his cartwheel elbow drop. The Ballards have some real good double team moves, and you can tell they have been teaming for a long time. At one point, Ward tossed one Ballard over the top, and then the other one right on top of his brother. Then Ma'och tossed George Snott over the top rope, and down onto both Ballards...then Sweetie Pie grabbed Cheerleader Melissa and press-slammed her onto all of her men. They weren't done yet, as Sweetie Pie then jumped from the top rope to all four of them on the hardwood floor!
Ballards/Snott took control later in the match, and Ballards hit a Double Downward Spiral on Maoch. The momentum quickly shifted again, and The Freak Show was back in command. The match finally came to an end at 9:48 when Sweetie Pie hit the Rocket Launcher from the top rope onto George Snott for the pin. The fans really loved the Freak Show, and this was a very good match.

Winner: The Freak Show ( * * * )

"Mack Daddy" Jimmy Ripp
(with The XXXPress)
vs
"Jiggy" Jack Perez

ripp_legdrop.jpg (19238 bytes)

This match started quickly as Perez attacked Ripp from behind. The fans were already booing Ripp because of the interview he gave earlier in the show. The momentum went back & forth. These guys really work good together. Perez gets tossed to the floor, and bodyslammed by Tony Jones. The XXXPress are really playing a factor in this match. Ripp leaps over the top rope and onto JJ. Back in the ring, Ripp hits a vicious DDT but only gets a two count. JJ Perez comes back with a swinging DDT, followed by a number of dropkicks and a hurricarana that sends Ripp to the floor. JJ with a leap off the top rope onto Ripp on the floor. Back in the ring, the action is moving fast...Ripp hits X-Marks The Spot on JJ (low-blow)...then he sets him up for Shattered Dreams. Perez is fading fast. Ripp hits a leg-drop off the top, followed by a splash off the top. The PHD elbow then puts JJ Perez away in 7:50. Ripp gets the clean pinfall victory, and the crowd doesn't like it at all.
After the match, Ripp gets the mic and challenges anyone in the business to answer the X-Challenge. Heavyweights, Lightweights, it doesn't matter to him. The fans are in an outrage as he leaves the ring with his hands raised in victory.

Winner: "Mack Daddy" Jimmy Ripp ( * * 1/2)

"Big Buffalo" Bison Smith
(with Jason Deadrich & Miss TnA)
vs
"Mad Mosher" Boom Boom Comini

bison_bbc.jpg (17784 bytes)

Two of the biggest men in APW going one on one. Boom Boom has the edge in experience, but Bison has a height advantage. This is a very slow paced match that Bison took early control of, overpowering Boom Boom. Once BBC got control, he was distracted by Smith's manager Jason Deadrich. Bison hit the unsuspecting Boom Boom with a clothesline and an elbow drop for the pin. BBC had his foot on the rope, but Deadrich pushed it off and Bison got the pin in 5:58. Boom Boom was furious, and can't wait til he gets a rematch with Bison Smith.

Winner: "Big Buffalo" Bison Smith ( * * )

MACK DADDY XXXPRESS
"Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels & "Shoot Daddy" Tony Jones
(with Jimmy Ripp)
vs
WESTSIDE PLAYAZ 2000
"Bad Boy" Boyce LeGrande & "Brown Bomber" Robert Thompson
(with ICEBOX)

boyce_pin.jpg (25106 bytes)

Before the match Tony Jones got the mic and talked about how the Westside Playaz were one of the greatest groups in APW, and Bomber/Boyce have some big shoes to fill. Jones attacked right as the opening bell rang. WSP's made a small comeback, hilighted by Boyces dive over the top rope onto all three members of the XXXPress, and a 2nd rope moonsault onto Daniels for a two count.
Christopher Daniels proved why he is one of the top wrestlers in the country, single-handedly bringing his team back and putting them in control. Daniels hit Boyce with a split-legged moonsault from the apron to the floor...an amazing move! Shooter hit a gutwrench-powerbomb for a two count on Boyce. Fans started rallying behind WSP's, but everytime they would make a comeback, Jimmy Ripp would get involved and put his men back in control. ICEBOX started a "Westside" chant, and the fans were getting really loud. At one point Boyce made the tag, but referee Will Cuevas missed it, and forced Bomber back out of the ring. Boyce really needed to make a tag. Boyce hits a sunset flip, but the ref is distracted again, and misses the count. Finally about 15 minutes into this match, after an amazing swinging stunner, Boyce is able to break free and tag Bomber. Bomber comes in and cleans house.
Bomber gets a near fall after a powerslam on Jones, then Boyce hits a scissor kick on Daniels for a two count. The fans are on the edge of thier seats as all four men are in the ring. Daniels hits a Grimes-cutter on Boyce for a two count, then Bomber hits Shooter with a brainbuster for yet another count of two. Boyce goes to the top and hits Jones with the Blockbuster, then goes up again for the frog-splash but gets tossed to the canvas by Daniels. Daniels then hits the flying-pedigree and perches Boyce on the top for Jones to hit the belly-2-belly from the top. 1...2...3! It's over!
But wait! Senior Official Max Marquez comes out from the back and tells referee Will Cuevas that Jones is not the legal man. Match continues! Bomber/Boyce take control in overtime. Frogsplash by Boyce...Frogsplash by Bobmer...1...2...3! The match ends after 19:56 of pure excitement. Definatley the best match of the card. After the match Jimmy Ripp gets caught in the ring and hit with the Double Blockbuster courtesy of the WSP's.
This match is definatley 4 stars, and should be one of the candidates for match of the year. Worth the price of the tape alone. These are four of the best in the Nation, and this match can't be missed.

Winners: WESTSIDE PLAYAZ 2000 ( * * * * )

APW Internet Championship
"Funboy" Donovan Morgan
vs
"Natural One" Michael Modest

morgan_flip.jpg (20048 bytes)

Chris Daniels comes out before the match starts and says he wants a good look at Modest since people are saying he is the only wrestler on his level. Daniels also says he would love to hold the APW Internet Title, and he wouldn't mind going through Modest to do it. He gets a chair and sits at ringside to watch the match.
Great back & forth match, both men pulling out all the stops in this Internet Championship bout. Donovan nails a chicken wing powerbomb for a two count, he also hits a split legged moonsault for another two count. Modest comes back with a full nelson suplex, dumping Donovan on his head.
These two go back and forth for a good 10 or 12 minutes. Morgan goes for a leapfrog, but gets caught by Modest & hit with the DVD! Morgan rolls out of the ring, so Modest leaps over the top onto him. Daniels gets involved and Modest nails him with a chair, knocking him to the floor. The fans are really behind Modest in this match.
Back in the ring, Modest hits a stunner on Morgan, but Daniels is up, and he makes the save. Max Marquez calls for the bell, and the match ends at 14:22 by DQ.
Morgan & Daniels beat on Modest, hitting him with some double team moves even though the match is over. Then, all of a sudden, the two of them begin to argue and start fighting each other! This gets out of hand and all three men are going at it. Bomber, Boyce, Boom Boom, ICEBOX, JJ Perez etc. all come out to break up the fight. All three men are seperated. You can bet that a three-way dance between these three is coming soon.

Winner: "Natural One" Michael Modest by DQ ( * * * 1/2 )

APW Universal Champioship
"La Migra" Maxx Justice
(with Jason Deadrich & Miss TnA)
vs
Super Diabliquo

turmoil_inc.jpg (17584 bytes)

The Freak Show came out to watch this Universal Title Match. Sweetie Pie, Ma'och & Chris Ward in his clown mask, strapped to the dolly & in the straight jacket.
It is pretty much a sure bet that Justice will keep the title here. Diabliquo starts off laying on the mat, and Justice goes for the pin. But wait! Super Diabliquo hits Justice with a low-blow! What is he doing? He starts hammering away on Justice. SD with a jawbreaker. Miss TnA comes in to stop him, but Modest runs out and takes care of her...not only with a kiss on the lips...but then he delivers a stunner to her! Miss TnA is out cold.
The match continues, and Maxx Justice takes control. What was Dynasty thinking? Or was that even Dynasty in the ring? Justice hits the Maxx-Factor on SD, and the match is pretty much over. As Justice argues with The Freak Show, Lil' Dic comes out and hits Justice from behind with a steel chair, knocking him out. Just then, the Freak Show unmask Chris Ward, and it's not Ward with the clown mask, but it's Shane Dynasty. So that means Super Diabloiquo is now Ward! Dic then hits Dynasty with the chair, knocking him out too. Freaks take off Dynastys clothes, leaving him in just his underwear, and they switch masks with him and Ward. Referee Matt Fischer is being distracted during all of this, and when he comes to...the Freaks have put Dynasty in the Diabloiquo mask, and put him on top of Justice for the pin. 1...2...3! He unmasks, and Dynasty is the new champion!
When Justice comes to, he sees that Dynasty was the one that pinned him, and goes nuts! Dynasty tries to plead his case, and say it wasn't his plan, but Justice isn't even trying to listen to it.
Great angle! Very suprising. The show goes off with Justice/Dynasty arguing in the middle of the ring.

Winner: Shane Dynasty (New APW Universal Champioship) ( * * )

Jermz Thoughts...

Very good show. The fans in Lompoc really got a treat when APW came to thier town. Best match of the night was definatley the tag match (WSP vs. XXX), i look forward to seeing those two teams meet again. Bomber/Boyce are the most popular team in APW history, and probably the best all-around tag team in APW history. The Freak Show did a really good job in thier match with Snott/Ballards. Just an all around entertaining card, with lots of good crowd support from start to finish.
The final angle was great, but hard for fans to understand that aren't hardcore APW fans. Nonetheless it still came off well. Morgan/Modest was good again, and i was thouroughly entertained by Jimmy Ripp vs. JJ Perez. Tony Jones did a good job on the mic, as he hardly ever gets any mic time. But his speech to Bomber/Boyce about the WSP's was very good.
APW is back on track, and this Fall & Winter is looking like it could be very exciting for APW fans. Keep checking out whats happening, because you shouldn't miss a minute of the action.
