The San Jose show could have been better
wrestling wise, but it was still fun just to be back watching live Pro Wrestling. APW is
obviously hurting righ now talent wise, with Robert Thompson, Donovan Morgan, Jimmy Ripp,
Chicano Flame & Suicide Kid all missing in action. I wish all of them a speedy
recovery and I hope Jimmy Ripp is doing good wherever he is.
It is a great idea to open the show with an interview from Al Getz. He (like Ripp) has the
ability to get the crowd into the show right off the bat. He did a great job of it on both
nights.

15-Man Battle Royal
I love Royal Rumbles, and this was a pretty good one...I think it would have been better
with 2 minuted interval, and if there had been a few more guys in the match. Chris Daniels
was very impressive, especially since he was the only man to escape Maxx's chokeslam in
this one. It was exciting when Justice and Modest went over the top at the same time,
eliminating each other. This was a good way to start off the show too...the fans were
really into it. Morgan came out of the crowd to chase off Al Getz, but instead he turned
on Vinny Massaro, nailing him with the cast, and knocking him out...giving the win to
Murdoch.
Winner: Frank Murdoch
The Boom Boom angle started here, and it was a good suprise. I'm glad to see BBC is still
with the company. The fans didn't really understand what was going on here, but BBC got
himself over and really did a good job of explaining what was going on. Jason is such a
bad guy in there, you just want to slap him LOL! He is always in the way, and is always
saying stuff like "To get in this ring...you have to first look like a
wrestler". I think now that we all know Al Getz is on his way out, Jason Deadrich
could take over as a great heel manager. Shane Dynasty is the only one left

Chicano Flame 2
vs
"La Migra" Maxx Justice (with Shayne
Dynasty)
Justice didn't want to fight Flame, he wanted
Modest. He threatened to chokeslam Jason through a table, which really got the fans
excited. Instead, it was Flame 2 that went through the table, and I'm assuming he won by
DQ. The match got one star cuz even though it wasn't a match, we saw a cool monkeyflip by
Justice and an amazing backdrop that sent Flame 2 about 15 feet in the air! The table spot
was great. That is what I call Flame 2 paying his dues!
Winner: Chicano Flame 2 by DQ ( * )

Bad Blood (with Shayne
Dynasty & Cold Blood)
vs
"Bad Boy" Boyce
LeGrande
Bad Blood defeated Boyce with help from Cold Blood. Sorry, but I'm not a huge fan of Bad
Blood. Boyce carried the match, and showed that he is one of the few guys that has
actually improved during his time off. Actually, his last match before this 2 month break
was a 4 star match against Vinny in Pinole, so who am I kidding....This guy is GREAT! The
match didn't interest that many people. After the match, Bomber came to the rescue of his
partner and they cleared the ring. Bomber (with broken leg) swinging his crutch around
wildly. The B&B Connection celebrated in the ring (Time, Time for some, time for some
ACTION) LOL!
Winner: Bad Blood ( * 1/2 )

"Shooter" Tony Jones, Vinnie Valentino
& Chris "PsYcHo" Ward
vs
"Mack Daddy"
"Enforcer" Jason C. Clay, "Hollywood Mack" Slick Rick Turner &
Nathaniel Sweete
(with Cholo Marquez & Shane Dynasty)
(Jones suplexes are GREAT!) The fans in SJ love Slick Rick. Sweete did a good job filling
in for MIA Jimmy Ripp. Looks like with no Ripp, the XXXPress need someone with mic skills,
I think thats why Shane is back with them. The match was an average good guy vs. bad guy
affair, with a good clean ending.
Winners: Tony Jones, Vinnie Valentino, Chris Ward ( * * 1/2 )

APW UNIVERSAL TITLE MATCH
"Natural One" Michael Modest
vs
"Fallen Angel"
Christopher Daniels
Very good match, that I don't think could have been better. However, even though they are
the two best in the indys today...I think since their styles are totally different, they
clashed a bit. I liked Daniels/Suicide Kid better, and I liked Modest/Maxx better. Daniels
works best with guys his speed, as does Modest. This was still an outstanding match,
lasting about 16 minutes and giving us a lot of great counters and near falls...but I
don't think the fans knew what they were seeing. I don't think they knew it was the two
best in the indys today...cuz they sure could have been into it more. The wrestling was
great, I just personally expected too much. Modest wins with a roll up to retain his APW
Universal Title.
Winner: Michael Modest ( * * * 1/2 )

"Lil" Dic Grimes
vs
"Filthy" Frank Murdoch (with Al Getz
& Donovan Morgan)
Lil Dic was taking the injured Vinny Massaros place. Very fast match, just under 5
minutes. Grimes finished off Murdoch with the Bitch Slap. Out came Modest to save Dic from
getting attacked, and Modest & Dic killed off Al Getz, as he took a DVD & a Bitch
Slap. The ending was great....but the fans weren't really into it that much. Personally ,
for me the greatest way an APW show could ever end is when someone is getting killed, and
they are booming "Breathe" by Prodigy...now that is exciting! It brings me back
to the days of the Grimes Brothers...when they would kill Shane Dynasty or Snowy Bear!
Winner: Dic Grimes ( * * )
