Corvus is 2010’s Young Lion!

DSC_0466_edited-1

History was once again made as Corvus defeated “Big Country” Jody Kristofferson to capture the cup. It was a hard fought tournament as all eight men gave it their all to try to become the Young Lions winner.

Here are the Results!

(ROUND 1)
1) “Out Of Control” Matt Carlos pinned “The Latin Dragon” Junior Morales in 6:59 when Carlos hit Morales with his “Union Landing” finisher.

2) “Big Country” Jody Kristofferson pinned “The Internet Sensation” Brandon P.Net in 5:00 when Jody hit his big spear for the pin.

3) “The Real Deal” Dan Danielson pinned “The First Class Male” Steve Stamp in 5:14 with a Full-Nelson Backbreaker.

4) Corvus pinned Tyson Thompson in 6:20 with a swinging neckbreaker

(NON-TOURNAMENT MATCH)
5) Vennis DeMarco pinned Tap Out Kid with his “Face Spank” (Full-Nelson Bulldog) in 4:31

(NON-TOURNAMENT MATCH)
6) Mr. Wrestling #4 defeated “The Mountain From Stone Mountain” Larry Blackwell by disqualification in 9:31 when Matthew Theall broke up Mr. Wrestling #4’s pin attempt by hitting Mr. Wrestling #4 with his golf club.

Before Blackwell and Theall could cause any further damage to Mr. Wrestling #4, Vennis DeMarco came in and took care of Blackwell thus letting Mr. Wrestling #4 get his revenge on Matthew Theall by giving him five knuckles right across the face.

(SEMI-FINALS)
7) “Big Country” Jody Kristofferson pinned “Out Of Control” Matt Carlos in 9:36 when Jody reversed out of Matt’s “Union Landing” move and caught Carlos with the big spear for the pin in the best Young Lions Cup Match of the night.

8 ) Corvus pinned “The Real Deal” Dan Danielson in 8:46 with a one armed DDT. Danielson coming in with an injured shoulder from his previous match with Stamp and Corvus took full advantage of this.

(NON-TOURNAMENT MATCH)
“The Boss” Derek Sanders defeated Dylan Drake in 10:21 when Sanders made Dylan pass out to the “Los Gatos Leglock”.

During the match Dylan Drake locked on the Sharpshooter right in the center of the ring. At that time APW Security team member Will Rood jumped on to the apron to draw the attention of the referee and Dylan Drake. Sanders took advantage of this distraction and went to work viciously on the back of Dylan Drake. Sanders locked on his submission hold and Dylan’s injured back could not take the pain and Dylan passed out without tapping.

APW Commissioner JJ Perez came out to ringside to question Will Rood for jumping on the apron. As everyone in APW knows and the APW fans who come to the Gym Wars TV tapings know, Will Rood is one of the most humbled and nicest students coming up the Boot Camp.

Rood just kept looking down and saying he was sorry at for what he did. JJ Perez accepted the apology, but wanted to know why he did it. Will would not give him an answer. Finally, Will snapped and told JJ, “I had to do it OK. I had to do what I had to do. You don’t understand what is going on in my life right now, I am sorry”. At this time Derek Sanders came and took Will Rood to the back with him.

All Pro Wrestling fans we will try to find out and update you more on this situation in the weeks to come.

(NON-TOURNAMENT MATCH)
APW World Wide Internet Heavyweight Champion, “Double D” Dave Dutra pinned “The British Messiah” Timothy Thatcher in 9:36 with his “Double or Nothing” finishing move to train the championship and solidifying his reign as APW World Internet Heavyweight Champion.

(YOUNG LIONS CUP FINALS)
Corvus pinned “Big Country” Jody Kristofferson with his swinging neckbreaker in 7:41 to win the 2010 Young Lions Cup.

Corvus like in his previous match with Danielson went to work on Jody’s injured neck coming into the finals. Not only did Corvus win the 2010 Young Lions Cup trophy, but he also earned a shot at the APW World Wide Internet Heavyweight Championship on May 8th at Gym Wars!

See you next time on Saturday, May 8th for our next Gym Wars TV Taping!

2 Apr

Eight!

ylc2010complete copy

Back here to announce the final three entrants into the 2010 Young Lions Cup tournament on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at the historic APW Garage.

Entrant number sixth into the 2010 Young Lions Cup is the “The Latin Dragon” Junior Morales!

This is the final chance for Junior Morales to capture the Young Lions Cup. “The Latin Dragon” ranks upon one of the most popular APW superstars today. The All Pro Wrestling fans just love how much heart and energy he brings to the ring each and every time out. Speed is his number one weapon against his opponents and he plans on going 100 miles per hour and capturing the 2010 Young Lions Cup!

Entrant number seven into the 2010 Young Lions Cup is “The First Class Male” Steve Stamp.

This is Stamp’s second chance at winning the 2010 Young Lions Cup as he made it into the semifinals of last years event. Steve Stamp was disqualified when the referee caught Stamp delivering an illegal low blow to “Double D” Dave Dutra. That error has haunted Steve Stamp for a year and at the 2010 Young Lions Cup he is hoping to come out the winner. Cocky and brash, but you can’t deny his wrestling ability or his chances in winning the 2010 Young Lions Cup.

The final entrant into the 2010 Young Lions Cup is “The Internet Sensation” Brandon P.Net.

In 2009, Brandon P.Net made his debut in All Pro Wrestling. Though he has not won a match yet in All Pro Wrestling, everyone from management to the fans where raving about Brandon P.Net potential inside the squared circle. Easily one of the top athletes in the tournament, many people are picking Brandon P.Net to be the dark horse winner. After a his few disappointing loses in APW, Brandon returned to the gym to work on his skills and he is ready to return in 2010 in a big away and win the 2010 Young Lions Cup.

To be crowned the 2010 Young Lions Cup is in all eight of these competitors dreams come April 10th. Their name being put into the All Pro Wrestling record books would cement their rise up the ranks in All Pro Wrestling. But the stakes have just gotten higher for this prestigious tournament………

APW Matchmaker John LaRocca has announced that the winner of the APW 2010 Young Lions Cup will earn a title shot at the APW World Wide Internet Heavyweight Championship on May 8th, 2010 at Gym Wars. So in one night they can win the 2010 Young Lions Cup and also become the #1 Contender for the APW World Wide Internet Heavyweight Championship. The stakes have never been higher in this tournament.

dutra vs thatcher copy

“Double D” Dave Dutra defends his championship on April 10th against “The British Messiah” Timothy Thatcher in another bonus match up.

Back in January, “Double D” Dave Dutra defeated Timothy Thatcher to capture the gold after taking the place of Thatcher’s original opponent, Mr. Wrestling #4 who was injured earlier in the evening. Many experts have claimed that Dutra had a good night and caught Thatcher unprepared.

Then in March during the Triple Threat Elimination Match between champion Dave Dutra, Timothy Thatcher and Matt Carlos, Thatcher dominated the match and pinned Matt Carlos with the illegal use of the ropes. Dutra took advantage of Thatcher celebrating his victory over Carlos and rolled up Thatcher to retain his championship. Once again those same experts claimed that Dutra once again was lucky in defeating “The British Messiah”.

On April 10th, at Gym Wars, “Double D” Dave Dutra has a chance to prove all those critics wrong and defeat “The British Messiah” Timothy Thatcher right in the center of the All Pro Wrestling ring. Though all his loyal “Double Deeziacs” fans know in their heart Dave Dutra is the champion, but it is those “wrestling experts” who say until he defeats Thatcher in the middle of the ring, then his championship reign will be questioned. Can Dave Dutra shut those critics up? Or will “The British Messiah” regain the APW World Wide Internet Heavyweight Championship for a second time?

Find out on April 10th, 2010 in Hayward, California at the historic APW Garage if Juinor Morales, Steve Stamp or Brandon P.Net can become the 2010 Young Lions Cup winner and who will come out on top of this explosive return World Wide Internet Heavyweight Championship bout between champion “Double D” Dave Dutra and “The British Messiah” Timothy Thatcher!

3 More Added to the Mix!

ylc3 copy

Here to announce three more entrants into the 2010 Young Lions Cup tournament on Saturday, April 10th, 2010 at the historic APW Garage.

The third entrant into the Young Lions Cup is APW rookie sensation “Big Country” Jody Kristofferson!

“Big Country” is looking forward to stepping into the to Young Lions Cup tournament and walking away with the Cup. Since making his pro wrestling debut back in August of 2009, Jody has quickly improved on his in ring ability. One of Jody’s strength is his raw power and the big heart he displays in each and every contest. Jody Kristofferson also has become one of All Pro Wrestling’s most popular wrestlers and look for Jody to gain energy from all his fans as he goes into the tournament having to win three matches to win the cup.

The fourth entrant into the Young Lions Cup is the dark and dangerous, Corvus!

In 2008, Corvus was in the first ever Young Lions Cup match. He was the first one out of the four man elimination match. Then at the 2009 Young Lions Cup, Corvus was over looked and he demanded on that night to have a match to show APW and the fans why he shouldn’t have been over looked. APW Commissioner, JJ Perez told him to lace up his boots and be ready to wrestle later that night. JJ Perez sent out Mr. Wrestling #4 to face Corvus that night. It was an action packed match with Corvus holding his own against Mr. Wrestling #4. Though Corvus did not gain the victory that night, he sure did prove that Corvus is a wrestler not to be over looked. In 2009, Corvus made huge improvement on his in ring skills and added a dark intensity to his game. Corvus is now set to show the world that he will forever never be forgotten on April 10th at the Young Lions Cup.

The fifth entrant into the 2010 Young Lions Cup is Tyson Thompson.

Tyson made his pro wrestling debut back in September of 2009. Though he has only one win in a tag team contest to his credit, each and every match you can see why Tyson Thompson is a future main event wrestler in All Pro Wrestling. Growing up in rough and tough streets of Oakland, Tyson Thompson has been an underdog all his life. Never expected to get out of the streets, Tyson Thompson did just that when he made his debut in pro wrestling. Win or lose, Tyson Thompson will for sure give 110% inside that squared circle come April 10th, 2010 at the Young Lions Cup.

drake vs the boss copy

Also a match that was supposed to happen last month, will happen on April 10th when Dylan Drake steps into the ring with “The Boss” Derek Sanders.

Dylan Drake suffered an injury to his back while training and he could not get medically cleared to wrestle at our last Gym Wars event. “The Boss” Derek Sanders claimed Dylan was simply just scared of him, but every APW fan knew “The Boss” was probably happy he did not have to look eye to eye across the ring from Dylan Drake. On April 10th we will finally see Dylan Drake try and gain a measure of revenge on “The Boss” for costing him a chance to regain the APW Universal Heavyweight Championship when Derek interfered in Dylan’s title match in January.
It is the Sharpshooter vs. the Los Gatos Leglock on April 10 in this bonus grudge match.

Find out on April 10th, 2010 in Hayward, California at the historic APW Garage if Jody Kristofferson, Corvus, or Tyson Thompson will become the next Young Lions Cup winner and if Dylan Drake can shut Derek Sanders up or will Derek Sanders show Dylan Drake why he is the “The Boss”?

Matt Carlos Enters the Young Lions Cup!

ylc2 copy

The 2008 Young Lions Cup winner “Out Of Control” Matt Carlos steps into the Young Lions Cup tournament for the very last time to once again attempt to win the cup.

Before the 2009 Young Lions Cup, APW Matchmaker John LaRocca put in a rule that only All Pro Wrestling officials and APW wrestlers knew about. That rule was that a young wrestler can only compete three times in the Young Lions Cup tournament. Only time a wrestler can compete in the Young Lions Cup for a fourth time is if that wrestler wins the cup in his third attempt. Although that wrestler does not have to compete for a fourth time, but the winner of the cup automatically earns a chance to defend his championship.

“Out Of Control” Matt Carlos won the four man elimination match to become the first Young Lions Cup champion in 2008. In 2009, not only was Matt Carlos excited about defending his championship, but he was excited about competing in the tournament format and testing his endurance and skill and proving to the world that he truly the best young lion in Northern California. Matt Carlos would lose in the first round to his best friend and tag team partner “Double D” Dave Dutra. Today, that loss still haunts him. Matt Carlos is probably more excited about the 2010 Young Lions Cup then the previous two for the fact that he gets a chance to wipe away the memory of the first round loss last year. Though he is very proud of his 2008 victory, he wants to win in the tournament format. This is his final shot at the winning the cup once again, and Matt Carlos believes that “Out Of Control” will be the first ever two time Young Lions Cup winner.

mr wrestling vs blackwell copy

Also added to this historic night is a special grudge match when Mr. Wrestling #4 takes on “The Mountain From Stone Mountain” Larry Blackwell in a one on one contest.

Everyone remembers when Blackwell crushed the ribs of Mr. Wrestling #4 by the orders of his new manager, Matthew Theall. They thought they took out the popular masked marvel for good, but Mr. Wrestling #4 made his return and has been a thorn in the side of Blackwell and Theall ever since.

On April 10th at Gym Wars, Larry Blackwell and Matthew Theall plan to take out Mr. Wrestling #4 for good. Mr. Wrestling #4 is greatly undersized in this contest, but don’t tell Mr. Wrestling #4 that. Mr. Wrestling #4 has a heart as big as any wrestler and he will never back down from any challenge, no matter how much the deck is stacked against him. Mr. Wrestling #4 not only promises victory, but revenge as well on Matthew Theall.

Can “Out Of Control” Matt Carlos be the first ever two time Young Lions Cup winner? Can Mr. Wrestling #4 defeat the 399lb “Mountain From Stone Mountain” Larry Blackwell? Find out on April 10th, 2010 in Hayward, California at the historic APW Garage!

The 2010 Young Lions Cup!

ylc1

In three weeks time All Pro Wrestling will be presenting its 3rd Annual Young Lions Cup tournament. Young Lions Cup started on December 5th, 2008 when APW matchmaker and management team member, John LaRocca wanted to have a match to feature the young up and coming talent in All Pro Wrestling. On that night he booked a “Four Way Elimination” match featuring “Out Of Control” Matt Carlos, “The Real Deal” Dan Danielson, “The Latin Dragon” Junior Morales and Corvus. Matt Carlos would go on to win and become the first ever APW Young Lions Cup winner.

After such a positive reaction from the All Pro Wrestling fans for the Young Lions Cup, John LaRocca decided to make 2009 version bigger and better by making the Young Lions Cup an 8 participant single elimination tournament and invited young superstars from not only from All Pro Wrestling, but from Supreme Pro Wrestling and North American Wrestling. The tournament was a success and All Pro Wrestling will once again have a single elimination tournament to crown the 2010 Young Lions Cup winner.

The first participant to enter into the 2010 Young Lions Cup tournament is the 2009 winner, “The Real Deal” Dan Danielson.

“The Real Deal” Dan Danielson burst onto the scene in All Pro Wrestling in late 2008. Danielson was impressive with not just his power and size, but also the speed he had in the squared circle. Though his first few matches he came out on the losing end, APW management and the APW fans could tell this kid would be a major force in APW’s future.

After having his ribs broken by “The Mountain From Stone Mountain” Larry Blackwell in early 2009, Danielson though not 100% came back to enter into the 2009 Young Lions Cup. In pain, Danielson fought hard through Johnny Plinko in the first round, and “Superstar” Elliot Fox in the semifinals. Danielson would meet “Double D” Dave Dutra in the finals in what many APW fans called the best Young Lions Cup match so are in its young history. Both men fought through pain and adversity, but in the end big Dan Danielson proved he was “The Real Deal” and defeated Dutra to win the cup.

After the tournament victory, many people felt Dan Danielson was just a few matches away from winning gold in All Pro Wrestling. Then on a smaller show in Northern California, Dan Danielson injured his shoulder in a match. The injury would take six months to heal, and still the doctors where hesitant in releasing Danielson to return to the ring on March 20th. Though his shoulder is not 100%, Danielson wanted to return to the ring and defend his Young Lions Cup crown in the 2010 tournament. In 2009 he fought through an injury and won the Young Lions Cup, and in 2010 the same tough road is ahead for “The Real Deal”.

Can Dan Danielson be the first ever two time Young Lions Cup winner? Find out on April 10th, 2010 in Hayward, California at the historic APW Garage!

Admission is only 3 cans of food or an unwrapped toy! This is a annual event is a can’t-miss!

Malachi’s Unnecessary Roughness!

_MG_3094

APW Universal Heavyweight Champion MALACHI defeated Jeckles “The Jester” by a count-out in 13:09 when Malachi hit Jeckles with this big boot the face when Jeckles was making his way back into the ring after both men where brawling on the floor.

After the count-out victory, Malachi brutally three times slammed Jeckles head against the “garage” door. Jeckles barley able to get to one knee was then KO’d by Malachi with another big boot to the face. Jeckles laid motionless on the floor and had to taken to local hospital.

After the match many of the APW fans questioned why Malachi took the count-out victory? Jeckles put up a fight with Malachi and matched him move for move. Malachi looked like he did not want any future matches with Jeckles. We will have a full report on Jeckles The Jester in the next couple of weeks.
