In what some are calling the greatest match in APW History, Dylan Drake and the APW Universal Heavyweight Champion “Old School” Oliver John, took each other to the breaking point. In an all out 30 minute war, Drake and Oliver John gave each other all they could handle and in the end it was Dylan Drake who stood tall as the bell sounded signaling that the 30 minute time limit had been reached. Therefore the match was ruled a draw and the APW Universal Heavyweight Championship was awarded to “Old School” Oliver John. Following their exhausting contest at GYM WARS on August 2nd, the APW camera crew caught with Dylan Drake to get his comments on his hard fought match…
We would like to thank all of our great APW Fans for coming out to last nights GYM WARS at the famous APW Garage. It was an action packed night that APW and all of our fans will never forget. It was an historic night all throughout the show, and it is one that will live in the hearts and memories of the people that were there forever.
At the start of the show APW Correspondent Shane Stoli welcomed back from his world celebration tour, The NEW APW World Wide Internet Champion “The Boss” Derek Sanders. When asked about his involvement regarding the beat down in Bakersfield of Nate Rulez last month that left him unable to show up to GYM WARS, “The Boss” shrugged it off and said that he had nothing to do with the “beat down” of his “former tag-team partner”. Sanders also took this time to address the number one contenders match for the APW World Wide Internet Title, “The Boss” put it simply. It didn’t matter who it was that won, all that mattered was that he was going to beat them later in the show when he put his Internet Title on the line.
As Derek was attempting to leave the ring and go back to his private locker room, APW Commissioner JJ Perez stopped him and gave him two very important announcements. The first, was that the Commissioner has learned for a fact, that Derek Sanders WAS involved in the assault on “The American Renegade” Nate Rulez. Perez said that he would deal with that in due time, but as for last nights GYM WARS, Sanders would have to wrestle twice, so that he would be on an even playing field with his number one contender later in the evening.
NUMBER ONE CONTENDERS MATCH FOR THE APW WORLDWIDE INTERNET CHAMPIONSHIP
In what was a hard fought opening GYM WARS contest that saw many close two counts by APW Official Sparkey Ballard, it appeared that “Wrestling Personified” Rik Luxury had pulled the wool over the eyes of Jeckles the Jester again. Towards the end of the match Luxury distracted the referee long enough to grab a chain he had concealed in a turnbuckle pad. However after the 1-2-3 was counted and Luxury’s hand was raised as the new number one contender to the APW World Wide Internet Championship, APW Official Matt Carlos came to ringside and informed Ballard he saw the match on a monitor in the back and witnessed “Wrestling Personified” hide the chain in his boot. After some coaxing from our great GYM WARS fans Ballard checked Luxury’s boot and sure enough he found the chain. The decision was automatically reversed and Jeckles the Jester was declared the NEW number one contender to the APW World Wide Internet Championship and would face Sanders later in the night.
MONEY VS HEART
The second match of the evening, was the first match of the night for the APW World Wide Internet Champion as “The Boss” Derek Sanders squared off against “The Latin Dragon” Junior Morales. Morales, who has quickly become a fan favorite in APW, showed a lot of heart in this match up. However heart was not enough to take down the best body that money can buy, as Sanders made short work of Morales, finally finishing him off with the F-5.
GROUND VS POUND
This match is one that the APW fans have been looking forward to ever since September of last year when Association member “The Pitbull” Tito Aquino turned on his tag-team partner “The Asian Sensation” Dana Lee. This was a brutal match in which both opponents quite simply beat each other into a pulp. The WARZONE was rockin’ once again during this brutal match as it spilled out into the front row right into the laps of the GYM WARS Fans. In the end after “Nice Guy” Vinny Massaro distracted the official, Oliver John gave Dana Lee a devastating piledriver that secured the victory for “The Pitbull”. This is one feud that we have not seen the end of yet.
ITALY VS MEXICO
After a back and forth match between “The Italian Assassin” Chris Colioni and The APW Legend Chicano Flame, it was Chicano Flame pulling out the victory via a school boy roll up for the pin-fall. After the match Colioni was not happy with APW Official Matt Carlos’ decision. After beating Carlos down “The Italian Assassin” threw Matt over the top rope and into the front row of the WARZONE. Within seconds APW Official Sparkey Ballard and APW Senior Official Tom Castor were down at ringside along with a score of security guards. Carlos was taken to a nearby medical facility. Doctors have not released any information on his condition at this time.
As this was going on Vinny Massaro was assaulting Chicano Flame in the locker room. The fight spilled back out into the Garage where after gaining control over The APW Legend, Massaro removed the mask from a Chicano Flame as an ultimate sign of disrespect. The Association member then informed the crowd that later in the evening he would be collecting the $7,500 bounty for the mask of Mr. Wrestling #4.
TECHNICAL VS HIGH FLYING
In the fifth match of the night the GYM WARS Fans were treated to an exhibition match between one of the greatest technical wrestlers in Northern California today “The British Messiah” Timothy Thatcher and one of Nor-Cal’s most popular high flyers, Kid Omega. Following a back and forth fight it was Thatcher who was able to get the victory by making Omega tap out to his modified crossface submission. After the match Association member “Nice Guy” Vinny Massaro attempted to remove the mask from Kid Omega. When APW Official Sparkey Ballard attempted to intervene, Massaro shoved Ballard to the ground. Massaro then called out Mr. Wrestling #4 and told him that he would be collecting $7,500 for his mask tonight!
BATTLE FOR THE BOUNTY
Mr. Wrestling #4 appeared to snap during his entrance and just went after Massaro who wanted no part of #4. After the introductions were through both men fought hard, #4 to keep his mask, and Massaro to collect the bounty. When it appeared that #4 was in total control however, Tito Aquino attempted to interfere in the match up and APW Senior Official Tom Castor was forced to disqualify Vinny Massaro. As the two Association members were laying the boots into Mr. Wrestling #4, Chicano Flame reemerged wearing a different mask, coming to the aide of #4. After successfully scaring off The Association, Mr. Wrestling #4 made a statement, much to the delight of the APW Fans, to any and all of the bounty collectors out there, that he would not go down with out a fight, and ripped up a copy of the bounty poster.
After Intermission Commissioner JJ Perez announced that if any Association member so much as sticks their nose through the curtain during the main event, “Old School” will be disqualified and the APW Universal Title will be awarded to Dylan Drake.
APW WORLD WIDE INTERNET CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
In a true battle for the APW World Wide Internet Championship (which will be viewable in the near future on the APW youtube account in it’s entirety), “The Boss” Derek Sanders and Jeckles the Jester fought tooth and nail for the title. In the end when “The Boss” realized that he couldn’t win the title fair and square, he gave Jeckles a low blow to get himself disqualified, which allowed him to keep his Internet Title.
APW UNIVERSAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
In a match that some are calling an instant classic, and others are calling the GREATEST match in APW history, Dylan Drake and the APW Universal Heavyweight Champion “Old School” Oliver John took each other to the limit. LITERALLY! After 30 minutes of hard fighting, clawing, scratching, suplexing and gut busting action, the time limit in the match expired with Dylan Drake still clutching Oliver John in his new submission move. APW Senior Official Tom Castor was forced to call this match a draw, which means that “Old School” Oliver John is STILL the APW Universal Heavyweight Champion. However it was Dylan Drake that left the ring completely under his own power. This is a situation that is far from over and the Pro Wrestling Council and APW Commissioner are hard at work trying to come up with a solution. We will keep you posted.

During the main event of APW GYM WARS on July 12, 2008, Mr. Wrestling #4, the “Asian Sensation” Dana Lee, and Dylan Drake defeated “The Association” in a six man tag team match. Following a spectacular victory, the APW camera crew was able to nail down Dylan Drake for a short interview. Here is what he had to say…..
It was a HOT SUMMER NIGHT, but no place HOTTER was the APW ring at the historic GYM WARS! Earlier in the day as reported on allprowrestlng.com, MPT could not acquire medical clearance to compete in the six man main event tonight. So the question going into the show was, “Who would be Mr. Wrestling # 4 and Dylan Drake’s tag team partner?”. We found out right at the beginning of the show as “The Asian Sensation” Dana Lee gladly stepped in MPT’s place, and help get revenge for his friend MPT, and also get some more of Tito Aquino, his former tag team partner.
As the interview by Shane Mai concluded, the APW Commissioner, JJ Perez came out to the ring area and shook the hands of Drake, Lee and Mr. Wrestling # 4, which might stopped the rumors that JJ Perez could be Mr. Wrestling # 4. JJ came out to inform the fans that “The American Renegade” Nate Rulez has yet to arrive to the building. JJ said he wasn’t concerned since Rulez always makes his bookings, but he wanted to inform the fans just in case he would have to make a substitute in the match.
Match # 1: Jeckles “The Jester” pinned “The Italian Assassin” Chris Colioni with his “Joke-Slam” finishing move.
Chris Colioni made his return after many months, and boy did he want to make a statement. He showed flashes of his old APW days in the late 90’s and was very aggressive in working over the knee of Jeckles, even one time locking on the figure-four leglock. With the help of the ropes, he nearly had a submission victory, but Jeckles with the backing of the fans, came back and hit his finishing move the “Joke-Slam” and won the match. After the match when Chris Colioni got back to his feet after a few minutes, he got into a heated argument with referee Matt Carlos. Colioni blamed the referee for him losing the match, but Matt Carlos told him he lost fair and square and walked away. Even though he lost the match, it was still a very impressive return by Chris Colioni.
Match # 2: “The British Messiah” Timothy Thatcher made “The Latin Dragon”, Junior Morales submit to an variation of the armbar submission hold.
Though the fans might not like his arrogant attitude, they sure cannot say anything negative about his wrestling ability. Thatcher controlled the match with young Junior Morales. The tough to impress APW crowd, really took a liking to this young rookie and was behind him all the way. He put up a solid and respected effort, but Thatcher with his knowledge of wrestling holds and counter holds, was just too much for the youngster. I am sure we will see more of Thatcher and Junior Morales at APW.
Shane Mai conducted an interview with the APW Universal Heavyweight Champion, “Old School” Oliver John, “Nice Guy” Vinny Massaro, and “The Pit Bull” Tito Aquino.
Oliver John talked about how he injured MPT, and how he will never be back to challenge for his championship. He touched on the association with himself, Massaro and Aquino. Oliver has taken Aquino under his wing, and asked for the assistance of his long time friend Massaro to help him groom Aquino. Oliver also pointed out they would like to get some of that $5,000 bounty for the mask of Mr. Wrestling #4 during the main event.
APW Commissioner, JJ Perez stopped Shane Mai afte the interivew, and quickly informed the APW fans that he has yet to hear anything for Nate Rulez and his whereabouts.
Match # 3: Chicano Flame pinned Kid Omega with an inside cradle.
This was a back and forth match between the two mask wrestlers. Crowd was really behind both men and cheered each offensive move and defensive move. The pace of the action picked up, and the veteran Chicano Flame caught Kid Omega with an inside cradle for the win. Afterwards both men shook hands and crowd appreciated the sportsmanship of both wrestlers.
Shane Mai conducted an interview with Mr. Wrestling # 4. Shane asked him about the now $5,000 BOUNTY for his mask. #4 told whomever it his who wants this mask, to come and face him straight up and not resort to such tactics as of putting up a bounty on him. After the interview concluded, Oliver John, Vinny Massaro and Tito Aquino attacked Mr. Wrestling # 4 and tried to collect on getting that bounty. Luckily for Mr. Wrestling # 4, Dylan Drake and Dana Lee ran off the attackers before they could get the mask.
Match # 4: Rock Of Love defeated The Bad Apples with a double team finishing move.
Rock Of Love made a special appearance at GYM WARS and the crowd was rocking and rolling with them. The Bad Apples, the twin brothers who have made a name for themselves throughout California really put The Rock Of Love to the test. This match was action packed and back and forth from bell to bell. Rock Of Love scored the victory, but The Bad Apples really impressed the GYM WARS audience.
APW Commissioner, JJ Perez came out once more and said he still hasn’t heard anything from Nate Rulez, and after intermission he will have a decision on the #1 Contenders match for the APW INTERNET CHAMPIONSHIP, or hopefully Nate Rulez does show up to the building.
Match # 5: “Wrestling Personified” Rik Luxury pinned Jeckles “The Jester” with a use of a chain.
This match was for the #1 Contender for the APW INTERNET CHAMPIONSHIP. After “Wrestling Personified” made his entrance he grabbed the mic and told the fans that Nate Rulez was a coward, and that he is now the # 1 Contender by forfeit. During this, JJ Perez made his way to ringside to make a decision on the match.
Luxury being so obnoxious, and cocky told JJ he might want to check the local hospital where Nate Rulez lives, and he might find him there. JJ Perez told the fans that he finally was able to get in touch with a family member of Nate Rulez, and in fact he was in the hospital after being jumped by some thugs. JJ Perez told Luxury, that he was only person who knew this information, and now he knows Luxury had something to do with this. JJ told the fans sit tight, and JJ went to the back. JJ came back and told Luxury he would not win by forfeit due and that his opponent in this match would be, Jeckles “The Jester”.
Luxury used every dirty trick in the book on Jester, and also took advantage of the already weakened leg form Jeckles’s earlier match. With help of the crowd, Jeckles fought back, but Luxury would use his bandanna’s, the towel he brought to the ring, and both wrist tapes to choke Jeckles. Finally, Jeckles had a enough and started going crazy choking Luxury. Senior referee, Tom Castor finally was able to pull Jeckles off Luxury a third time. As that was going on Luxury loaded a chain form his boot on his fist. Jeckles, lifted Luxury high for the “Joke-Slam”, but Luxury nailed Jeckles with the chain and scored the cheap win and became the # 1 contender for the APW INTERNET CHAMPIONSHIP and will challenge the champion, “The Boss”, Derek Sanders on August 2nd!
MAIN EVENT
Dylan Drake, Mr. Wrestling # 4, and “The Asian Sensation” Dana Lee defeated the APW UNIVERSAL HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION, “Old School” Oliver John, “Nice Guy” Vinny Massaro, and “The Pit Bull” Tito Aquino, when Dylan Drake (who was the legal man in the match) nailed his finishing move, the FLYING CROSSBODY as Oliver John was going to pile-drive Dana Lee, and scored the in on the APW Universal Champion!
This MAIN EVENT had the crowd on their feet throughout entire match. Back and forth action. Finally, Oliver John and his crew isolated Dana Lee and worked him over for a very long time with some brutal offense. Lee made the tag to Dylan Drake and suddenly it was a fight by all six men all over the building. Oliver John was going to put out Dana Lee with his pile-driver, but Dylan Drake came off the top rope with the flying crossbody and scored the biggest victory of his career in APW.
The APW fans started to chant, “You got beat, You got beat” at Oliver John. Soon those chants turned to “Dylan, Dylan”, and then “APW, APW”. No doubt Dylan Drake turned the heads of the championship committee on this night.

Saturday night, 6-14-08, at APW Gym Wars live from the famous APW Garage in Hayward, CA, The Boss Derek Sanders cemented his legacy in APW History by becoming a Triple Crown Champion, when he defeated The American Renegade Nate Rulez for the APW World Wide Internet Championship. And in the other half of our double main event, Old School Oliver John became a two time APW Universal Heavyweight Champion by defeating Mr. Prime Time MPT in what is sure to be labeled an instant classic. After the show, our cameras caught up with the new champs, and did they have a lot to say….
Not even a rainy night could keep Gym Wars fans from taking in a night of All Pro Wrestling. The show had a little bit of everything and was shaping up to be good show. This show had a few outside wrestling talent on the show and it seems as of late that All Pro Wrestling is having the worst of luck with outside talent. Either they are talented but disrespectful or flat out have no business being in an All Pro Wrestling ring. What took place at the end of the night was something nobody is proud that it happened and needs to be addressed. The Gym Wars fans absolutely deserve better…
It what can be either considered a historic moment or one of the darkest days in All Pro Wrestling history, “Rock Legend Scum” Adam Thorntsowe became only the second double champion as he holds both the APW Internet Title and the APW Universal Heavyweight Tittle. What took place on this night will have caused some major issues in APW on the handling of outside talent being booked.

Aside from solid wrestling, two ways to get my attention are superior graphics and a well booked tournament, and having it be women’s wrestling certainly adds it’s own appeal.
Chickfight is a San Francisco based operation run by Jason Deadrich, and has recently run events in the UK. It features some of the top women wrestlers in the country, and the world for that matter, but the glory of the promotion is a regular tournament that pits eight top women’s wrestlers in a grueling competition.
In the latest DVD installment, Chickfight V, wrestlers from Neo Ladies Pro Wrestling (Japan) join the fray, including Yoshiko Tamura, Tanny Mouse and Sumie Sakai. Tamura is holder of both the NEO Singles title and the NWA Pacific Title; Mouse is a solid veteran; and Sakai is a baby-face looking hardcore dynamo.
Filling out the tournament seeds are ECW great Jazz, the ubiquitous Allison Danger, West Coast standout Cheerleader Melissa, Chickfight IV winner MsChif and one time TNA star Simply Luscious.
