A Message From Jermz:

I became a wrestling fan at the age of 9 while visiting family in Kansas City, Missouri.  My Aunt & Uncle took me to a show that Summer which featured such legends as Ric Flair, Harley Race, Bulldog Bob Brown, Mr. Pogo, Curt Hennig and more.  I immediately fell in love with the sport, and became an avid pro-wrestling connoisseur.  I grew up on guys like The Four Horsemen, Rhodes, DiBiase, Hogan and all the greats of the 80's and 90's.  These were the days before it was cool to admit you watched wrestling at school.  By 1997 I thought I had pretty much seen it all.  I had seen the up's & down's, and experienced live events, pay-per-views, wrestling albums, steroid scandals, along with the rest of the wrestling world.  I even thought I had the independent wrestling world all figured out when local shows would fly in Greg Valentine or Brutus Beefcake to take on some local "jobbers".  The sport was stale, and I wasn't into it half as much as I was as a child.  Little did I know, my first decade of wrestling hadn't even scratched the surface of what I would soon experience.

In April of 1997, I stumbled upon a local independent wrestling promotion based no more than 40 minutes away from my home in the city of Hayward, California.  The promotion was APW, and it was ran by Roland Alexander.  They held shows inside an old beaten up warehouse on the industrial side of town.  After attending only one live show, my family and I were hooked.  The excitement of being so close to the action, the drama and storylines were intriguing, and the heart and dedication to the sport that these guys showed was no doubt better than anything you could see on television.  These were no-name wrestlers, who put their bodies on the line for little to no pay, and anywhere between 50-100 fans.  There was no denying how much these men loved the sport.  I guess you could say that in 1997, I fell back in love with wrestling.

My story could go on and on.  But to make it short, for the past 5 years now I have been the Senior Media Editor for APW, and have consistently volunteered for them.  The memories and sheer joy of doing something I have fun with is payment alone for the time i have spent.  All of the great moments that my family and I experienced at the APW Garage in Hayward were all thanks to the people who I pay respect to on this website.  Men like Michael Modest, Donovan Morgan, Vic Grimes, Erin O'Grady, Maxx Justice and anyone else you see on this site has played a huge part in my enjoyment of the sport.

I guess you could call me the Official APW Historian, or maybe just the ultimate fan-boy...but whatever I am, APW has been a large part of my life, and I have loved every minute of it.

This website (which was created on January 1st 2001) is dedicated to the first 7 years of APW (1995-2001), which I have properly titled "The Glory Days".  In 2002, the promotion took a turn in another direction, and The New Generation was born (you can get to the New Generation portion of the site by clicking on the "new generation" logo on the front page of the site).  Most of the stars from APW's early years left the promotion and went on to other projects.

Here you will find all of the stats, facts, records and history you need to know if you want to study up on APW's history.  If you are planning on entering the APW Boot Camp, I personally suggest you check out this site, and acquaint yourself with the history of those who came before you.  You know what they say, you can't see where you're going if you don't know where you've been :)

So just click on a link below and you will be taken to that section of the website.  Have fun, and I hope you come away with more APW knowledge than you had when you came in.  And remember to keep supporting independent wrestling, the stars of wrestling's future...today!
